How much does it cost to bring down a building?

A 90-year old hotel in Detroit, Michigan, has been “imploded” as part of construction work on a new hockey arena and entertainment district.
The project to demolish the multi-story Park Avenue Hotel in a controlled explosion cost $898,000 (£578,000) and it took less than 30 seconds for the building to collapse.
