Tropical Storm Harvey Slams Texas

Tropical Storm Harvey slammed into Texas Friday with winds of 130 miles per hour.  It is the most powerful storm to hit the nation since 1961.  The devastation is expected to be widespread.  Catastrophic flooding is expected.  The devastation will be widespread and at least one person is reported dead.

The storm has destroyed buildings and toppled trees.  Spin-off tornadoes have been reported and fuel production has come to a halt.  Gas prices will surge.

Since landing, Harvey has been downgraded to a tropical storm, but it is moving slowly.  Texas will feel its brunt for several days before it moves on.  The person who died lived in Rockport, a town 30 miles north of Corpus Christi.  Other injuries, non-fatal, have been reported.
